It was in the year 2000 that the Italian car maker Alfa Romeo introduced the Alfa Romeo 147 at the Turin Motor Show. It is based on the running gear of a larger car, the Alfa Romeo 156, and serves as a replacement for the holder 145 and 146 hatchbacks.
This delightful small family car was awarded the European Car of the Year the following year in 2001. The Alfa Romeo 147 comes with 1.6 and 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder petrol Configurations as well as a 1.9-liter diesel Configuration.
Wolfgang Eggber and Walter de Silva designed the Alfa Romeo 147. For its immaculate styling, the 147 was the recipient of unanimous praise upon its launch. It was later awarded a range of different styling awards.
The entire range of 147s was revamped in the year 2004. Its new styling is now more reminiscent of the Brera and 159 models. Among the new features, the most prominent is a new front grille, new rear lights, new headlights, and a revamped interior. The car also boasts a more powerful diesel Configuration and a tweaked suspension.
In the year 2006, a Q2 version of the car was launched. This one features a front Torsen limited-slip differential.
