The Ford Five Hundred is a full size sedan vehicle made by the Ford Motor Company. The car was produced between the years 2005 and 2007. Alongside the Mercury Montego and the Ford Freestyle, the Ford Five Hundred will be one of the last cars to be produced at the Chicago Assembly Plant of Ford in the summer of 2007.
In the United States of America and Canada, the name of the Ford Five Hundred evoked popular models from the middle of the twentieth century such as the Galaxie Five Hundred and the Fairlane Five Hundred. The modern day Ford Five Hundred sedan was slotted between the Ford Taurus and the Ford Crown Victoria.
The Ford Five Hundred was made in Chicago, where the Ford Taurus had also been produced. The Ford Five Hundred was first unveiled in the year 2004 at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
The Ford Five Hundred received a major facelift for the 2008 model year; it was first shown in the year 2007 at the North American International Auto Show. The vehicle, however, has been rebranded as a Ford Taurus, thus returning the Taurus name to the Ford lineup after an absence of one year.
